Alex Kofi-Mensah Mould is a senior Ghanaian executive in the field of energy sector governance and banking. He is a former CEO of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC). He previously served as the CEO of the National Petroleum Authority, providing leadership and technical direction in the regulation of the petroleum downstream industry in Ghana. Alex holds a BSc in chemical engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and a postgraduate diploma in Oil Marketing and Economics from the College of Petroleum Studies, Oxford. In 1994, Alex earned an MBA degree in Finance, Accounting, and Decision Science from J. L. Kellogg Graduate School, Northwestern University, Illinois. Alex began his career with the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) in 1985 as a Chemical Engineer and rose through the ranks to become a Special Assistant to the CEO of GNPC in the area of marketing. Alex worked as a Senior Associate at Structured Trade Finance Americas of UBS Investment Bank from 1997 to 1999. He moved banks and was employed as Associate Director of Commodity Finance at Standard Chartered Bank in New York from 1999 to 2001, and consequently rose to become the Executive Director and Co-Head of the Wholesale Department of the bank in Ghana’s office until 2008.
