Seth Sylvester Dadzie is an environmental consultant and social development expert with over 12 years of practical experience in Development Planning, Research, Monitoring, and Evaluation. In the past 4 years, he has worked on issues pertaining to renewable energy, climate change, environmental sustainability, and pollution prevention. He holds an MSc in Energy Science and Policy from Ajou University in South Korea. He also holds an MA in Development Studies and a BSc in Computer Science and Psychology, all from the University of Ghana. He also obtained a Certificate in Advance Project Management from the Graduate School of Governance and Leadership, and a Certificate in Professional Database Technology from the IPMC College of Technology, all from Ghana. Sylvester for many years worked as a Senior Social Development Officer with Ghana’s Ministry of Local Government, Decentralization and Rural Development where he supported the implementation of government’s social and pro-poor policies and programs at the sub-national levels. He currently consults for Green Net Power Company Ltd, WECOS Company Ltd and Ecolinks Company Ltd based in South Korea, on technical, research, and advisory services in identifying sustainable energy investment opportunities in West Africa with a particular interest in carbon credit projects. In 2020, Sylvester developed the fraction of Non-Renewable Biomass (fNRB) for Ghana’s Ministry of Energy towards the implementation of a 500,000 Improved Cookstoves Distribution Project in a carbon credit project financed by Korea East-West Power Company Ltd. Furthermore, Sylvester worked as a Research Officer with the Institute of Statistical, Social and Economic Research (ISSER) based at the University of Ghana where he provided technical and supervisory roles in the designing and implementation of various research projects including Perception and Interest in Ghana’s Nuclear Power Program for Electricity Generation, Consumers Satisfaction and Expectation from National Electricity Distribution, Ghana Strengthening Accountability Mechanisms Project, Poverty and Human Development Project, Ghana Social Opportunities Project, among others. Again, he worked as a Project Officer with the Millennium Development Authority in a Rural Bank Computerisation and Interconnectivity Project which was designed to build the technical capacity of rural and community banks in Ghana to deliver improved products and services to clients. Sylvester is currently the Chief Operating Officer of Syntex Synergy Company Ltd which offers a range of services, including business and trade facilitation, research, monitoring, and evaluation, and consulting services related to environmental, social, governance, and impact investing analysis and implementation of clean and sustainable development mechanism projects.
